Well, it feels like we're seeing the end of the warmest September in a century, it's been so nice! Thank you Mother Nature, we needed that.
CONGRATULATIONS to Laura from our Kenaston location. She got married this weekend and we hope it was a fantastic celebration. I can't wait to see the photos! Everyone was out Saturday night to celebrate Bev's stagette and a very good time was had by all. Bev's special day is this Friday.
The Giveaway Weekend was a huge success and I loved hearing the stories about how these items helped people in our community. It became a game in our house. We put out a dresser and it was picked up in less than 10 minutes. Then we put out another one to see how long it would take. Did anyone else put items out on the curb? I think there should be a Giveaway Day every month - anyone agree? It would certainly help my constant need to purge.
We scheduled our annual family photo shoot in Gimli on Saturday afternoon. Our photographer, Rodney Braun from Eve Studios is fantastic (and so is his wife Sonya!). We enjoyed some time on the beach and dinner with their family before heading back. We need a great photo for our Christmas cards and my goal is to be ready for Christmas by the end of October (I know it sounds a little crazy). Rodney's specialty is Beauty Photography and he does award-winning work, be sure to check out their website.
Our family celebrated Scott's (my hubbie) Grandma's 95th birthday yesterday. She is such an inspiration to me and I believe it's her great attitude that keeps her going. She still lives in her own house, does all of her own shopping, and is sharper than a lot of people our age. I think it's such a gift that our girls get to know their Great Grandmother, it's pretty special.
Wishing you all a great start to your week!

Happy Birthday wishes go out to Sara today. Enjoy your day and do something special for yourself. Big hugs to you!
The City of Winnipeg is launching a brand new concept called the Giveaway Weekend. I think this idea is spectacular! This Saturday and Sunday, put any items that you would like to give away on the curb and mark them "FREE". All of us probably have household items that we don't want or need so let's do our part to prevent useful materials from ending up in the Brady Road Landfill. Items can include anything from books, furniture, small appliances, CDs, DVDs, toys, sports equipment, yard/gardening tools, or clothing. Everything that isn't picked up should be removed Sunday night. I have a feeling the Diabetes Society might be a little busy doing pick ups next week!
Enjoy this beautiful Fall day!

In my never ending quest for a completely organized home, I ordered a few items last weekend from Ikea. They had 25% off shipping and 20% back in gift cards when you order Pax wardrobes so I could not resist. Everything is due to arrive in a couple of weeks and I need help!
Does anyone know of a good handyman/handywoman who can do an assortment of things?
We've also been searching for someone to help out with small projects and repairs at Tiber River. I'm actually pretty handy, but I don't have the time or desire to spend hours doing this sort of thing. Unfortunately, handy-ness was not on my list when I met my hubbie, but I've come to terms with that. If you know of someone, please leave a comment with their contact info.
What Fall projects are you working on at work or home?
We are getting super busy with our Pay It Forward, Bring a Friend Campaign. I enjoyed a Bobbing for Apples pedicure yesterday and I can still smell the sweet scent of apples on my skin. Yum.
I hope everyone is enjoying this gorgeous weather!

Hello all!! Adriana here. It's been quite awhile and I'm dying to get back into my blogging but am finding the days crazy with getting kids to school and enjoying my 4 month old. I'll be back soon to give you all the details but for now, I wanted to pass on some disturbing information that I received via an email from Crampton Market. If none of you have been, its a fantastic market located at the corner of Waverly and Bishop Grandin. They make heavenly baking and have the BEST local produce around! However, this is what I found out today.....
"For over 20 years Peak of the Market has legally controlled the production of potatoes in Manitoba. Until this summer farmers were legally allowed to grow a maximum of 4 acres of potatoes to market on their own. The rules changed this July when Peak of the Market took away those 4 acres from Manitoba growers. As it now stands, it is illegal for Manitoba farmers to grow ANY potatoes for sale unless they have a Quota with Peak of the Market and sell ONLY to Peak of the Market. Farmers who get caught illegally growing will be faced with stiff fines and the possible confiscation of their equipment. This means that any potatoes that I (Erin from Crampton Market) buy from local independent growers are ILLEGAL. This is why I will no longer be posting the location of potato farms in the province, or telling anyone the names of my potato farmers."
I find this absolutely appalling and think we should all be getting angry about this. In this time of buying local and supporting local, an organization effectively cuts off a large supply of local produce. Shame on you, Peak of the Market. For more information, visit this blog.

It's a busy back to school week and I hope all of the moms out there are having a smooth transition. Paige started Kindergarten at her Montessori school and although not much really changes, she is pretty excited. I'm looking forward to getting everyone back into a regular routine.
One of our loyal customers, Danna, shared a great back to school tip with us yesterday. She has been using our Tiber-Riffic Mat Spray to clean her kids sneakers. I've used the fruit and veggie spray on shoes, but I will most defintely give this one a try! She says it works like a charm.
I will be back tomorrow to announce a very exciting promotion that starts on Monday.

We had a great team meeting on Tuesday and it was nice to get both locations together. When everyone introduced themselves, we asked them to share their favorite Tiber product. Over the next week, I'll share a few with you...
Melissa, Haleigh, and Danielle absolutely LOVE the Perfect Pear Lotion. Terri, Sara S., and myself can't get enough of the Lime Margarita Shower Shake. Adriana's favorite is the Save Me Gel, which is great for any skin irritation; bug bites, scratches, cuts, and weird bumps of any kind. Adriana formulates the products so you might want to give that one a try!
Has anyone heard of the Drum Cafe ? They kicked off our first Women Business Owners of Manitoba meeting last night. Great energy and tons of fun. If you're looking for something unique to do for your company, check these guys out!
Ciao for now.
