I have really been embracing technology lately and I have to admit I am quite proud of myself because it's not something I really have the patience for. On Tuesday, our wonderful computer guru Dave (we like to call him Dav-ay) helped me connect my laptop to both stores remotely so that every evening I can see what the next day looks like for esthetic appointments. Since it is a slower time of year, we are taking the opportunity to really give back to our clients and are posting specials on Twitter (soon Facebook as well). Please follow us on twitter and take advantage of these specials!
Instead of doing a Fun Friday contest today, we are offering 50% off Tiber-Riffic Manicures and Pedicures if you call to book an appointment today and mention "Fun Friday". We have a few spots left today so please give us a call at Academy at 474.2333 and Kenaston at 284.4247 (sorry, this offer is only valid for today).
Do any of you watch the Dragon's Den on CBC? I had the pleasure of attending a Rain Maker event at the Hotel Fort Garry last night and the guest speaker was Kevin O'Leary (he is known as the bald, "mean" one). It was an honour to meet someone who is such a tremendous success in the business community. He shared his stories and some of his secrets to becoming a successful entrepreneur.
I took away some golden nuggets, but certainly didn't agree with everything he said. What it did is remind me how we really are a different company. Adriana and I care about our team and our culture at Tiber River is like a family. We don't feel good about "whacking" employees and we do believe it is important to be a business with a social conscience. Our community and team are important to us and anyone we partner with in our business must share the same philosophy.
Kevin also spoke about balance and the many sacrifices entrepreneurs must make to grow their businesses. Adriana and I work hard to have balance and being a mother and a wife are just as important as running a successful business. "Imperfect Balance" is something we have settled for. He suggested that everyone needs a wife, I think I need one too! Perhaps I can post an ad on twitter:)
Have fun, enjoy the weekend!
