Book Club Anyone?

I am one of those odd people who actually look forward to Fall.  I feel rejuvenated and get excited to get back into routines, get organized, and launch new projects.  We have a pile of great new ideas we're waiting to launch over at Tiber River.

One of these ideas is a Tiber Book Club. Anyone interested in joining?

We would meet once a month on a Monday or Tuesday evening at one of the locations.  I would love to focus on local authors and perhaps even invite them down to speak about their book.  I'm currently reading Gargoyle and it is a fantastic read.  Would love to hear your feedback!

Happy Tiber Anniversary Erin!

We would like to wish Erin a Happy Tiber Anniversary!  This week marks 2 years since she has joined Tiber River.  On behalf of the team and our clients, thank you very much for your contribution every day.  You are always valued and appreciated!

My blogs have been intermittent the last while with the blur of the new store opening, catching up, and trying to escape for a bit of fun with my family.  My apologies, there will be more consistency starting next week, I promise. 

Are you looking for a fun little road trip to end off the summer?  Last weekend we spent four days in Minneapolis and we had a great time.  We stayed at the Radisson  by the Mall of America with the Waterpark of America attached to it.  It is the largest indoor waterpark in North America.  I was screaming on the family tube ride that was 10 stories high as my 5 year old laughed hysterically at me.  A little trip to Valley Fair, the Minnesota Zoo, Ikea, and Albertville finished the trip off nicely. 

This week we're spending a couple of days in Gimli and then camping at Rushing River for the weekend.  It's an annual tradition and I'm not letting this weather discourage us!

Looking for something to do tonight?

At our house, we are big Folklorama fans and attend as many pavillions as we can get to every year.  We went to the Celtic pavillion on Tuesday and I was pleasantly surprised that Sierra Noble was playing.  She just returned from playing with Paul McCartney in Halifax last week.  She was amazing and I'd highly recommend visiting that pavillion tonight.

 

Luck of the draw

Our Grand Opening event last Thursday was great.  I wish I had taken a photo of the people waiting outside our doors first thing in the morning.  I was surprised, it was kind of like Wal-Mart.  I love that Winnipegers make the effort to come out for free loot.  Our 100 gifts were gone by 12:30, it was fantastic!
