GREAT NEWS - the first Tiber River Sale ever at our Academy Store!

I LOVE being the bearer of good news first thing in the morning!  Anyone who has visited our new location at 3-1650 Kenaston will know that Tiber River has spent some time at "the spa" and has a refreshed new look.  We have brand new packaging impatiently waiting to show off on the shelves at our Academy location.  So we have decided to have our first ever SALE!  RECEIVE 10% OFF ALL PRODUCTS AT THE ACADEMY LOCATION until they're GONE.  (remember, this is at the Academy location only and does NOT apply to any of the new packaging)

I would also like to take the opportunity to pay tribute to an incredibly talented artist and designer, Kal Barteski.  Kal was our first designer and is a BIG part of where Tiber River is today.  Four years ago, she heard how we wanted Tiber River to look and feel.  THANK YOU KAL, you believed in us and gave us our wings.  You also became a friend along the way.  We really miss working with you!  Thank you for the beautiful pics and mention on your blog, we appreciate your continued support.

Make Believe

I returned home last night after a somewhat arduous day to find my kids playing a game of make believe.  Paige was calling herself Crystal and looking hilarious in a very large pair of my sunglasses.  She was playing the teacher and Miss Montel (Brynn wearing upside down glasses) was the student who wasn't doing her homework.  Apparently she had even failed some classes because she wasn't studying hard enough.

Not only did it make me laugh, but it also made me realize that everything in life is about mindset.  I think all of us can play a game of make believe with ourselves to stay positive and keep going when things get a little tough.  Kids can teach us the most amazing lessons!

That is my nothing-about-Tiber-River insight for today.  We'll be making an announcement tomorrow that you will want to check back for!

Good Morning!  I am back to early mornings again and it feels great to have some extra quiet, productive time in the a.m. before I start the rest of my day.

A GREAT BIG THANK YOU for sharing your comments with us last week.  We all appreciate hearing what we are doing well!

This week marks Bev's (one of our estheticians) 1 YEAR TIBER ANNIVERSARY!!  Bev, we are so lucky to have you on our team and you are a real pleasure to work with.  Thank you for making Tiber River a better place and we look forward to another year of watching you develop and grow as an esthetician.  I love your positive attitude and smiling face!  I look forward to visiting this week with a small token of our appreciation.

Grand Opening - Mark Your Calendars!

The "friendliest team"

I heard one of the best compliments this morning from Dama at Hot 103. She thinks we have "the FRIENDLIEST STAFF".  Of course I am a little biased, but I know it's true!  Thank you to our team and to Dama for sharing those kinds words with us.

I am meeting with someone this afternoon about getting our products to the Golden Globes in L.A. in January.  I am super excited and hope the opportunity comes to fruition.  We are busy little bees over here at Tiber and good things are coming our way!

Tiber #2 on Kenaston is Open!

A great big THANK YOU to our entire Tiber team for making this possible.  Everyone pitched in a little extra so we could successfully open our doors.  You guys are awesome!

One week to go!

Time is a funny thing, it seems to pass in a blink.  We open our second location in just ONE WEEK.  Wow, time flies!  We were busy this week with new computer programs and networks.  Yesterday and today is training for our 4 new retail customer service team members.  We are so excited about the great additions to our team!  Next week we will be training 6 estheticians to get them ready for some serious pampering.

I don't want to jinx myself, but things are moving along very nicely with no big hiccups so far (although I've had to call certain vendors/people daily to make sure things get DONE) ...and don't get me wrong, there are still a ton of things to do!There have been some challenges with our new labels and packaging, but I am confident that will work out too.  We're very excited to launch Tiber's refreshed look.    

What a crazy storm yesterday morning.  A tree hit our house and knocked out the power.  The power also went out at the store in the middle of computer training and our new server with only 15 minutes of battery backup was challenged. 

Well, my plan of getting up earlier so I can get work done is definitely not working this morning since everyone else in my house has decided to get up too.  I will do what I can.  Have a fabulous weekend and I promise more regular, interesting blogs next week!

A bit of Tiber news

Happy Friday!  I'd like to wish Deb CONGRATULATIONS on her wedding.  I saw her wedding photos yesterday and they were absolutely beautiful. 

I'd also like to send a warm welcome to Patricia, yesterday was her first day back in her new role.  Patricia was the first Tiber River employee 4 years ago when we opened the Academy location.  She has rejoined us as our Operations Supervisor and we are thrilled to have her back! 

I met the MTS internet installer at Tiber #2 yesterday morning and was so excited to see the progress.  It's looking like a store and I'm so excited to see it come together so nicely.  There is still LOTS to do, but I plan on escaping to the lake tonight with my laptop.  A change of scenery will be nice and a little rest on the beach will surely help me recharge for a very busy week. 

My friend Lisa has generously offered to help us with revamping some of our internal processes.  She is a human resource management and customer service expert so I am super grateful.  This week we finished hiring 10 new team members for Tiber #2 and next week we start training.  I'm excited to get started with her today.
