Today is the day of meetings which start at 9:30 and don't stop until after 3 so I'm going straight to the tip and I'll have to babble on another day :)!
LIFE WELL LIVED TIP #11 - Take your vitamins!! I'm sure this one really proves my point that you have heard many of these tips before BUT, they are so important, they need to be repeated and repeated! There are many different vitamins & minerals and all of them do something different. For instance, Vitamin E and C are both essential anti-oxidants. However, just taking these two vitamins isn't enough because there are other anti-oxidants that your body requires. Selenium, for instance, a very important trace mineral, is also an anti-oxidant because it attacks free radicals, but different ones than Vitamin C and E do. (Free radicals are created inside of the body and contribute to heart disease and many cancers.) If you leave Selenium out of your vitamin collection, you will only be attacking some of the free radicals your body produces. Every vitamin and mineral has a specific job to do and they are all important in their own right. For instance, American researchers have found that taking a supplement of Vitamin D reduces the risk of colon, rectal and breast cancers by as much as 60%!!! Not only this, it helps build healthy bones (so when you are older, you don't need to worry about brittle bones), regulates calicum levels in the body and supports a healthy immune system.
I could go on and on about Vitamins, and maybe I will in another post, but today, it is enough to say VITAMINS ARE IMPORTANT. Take them every morning with breakfast or your morning coffee so you don't forget. They are a very important component of a Life Well Lived because without your health, life can get to be a little heavy!
