Good Morning all. I am a bit late posting today because my dear husband kept me up most of the night last night - not for anything enjoyable, either! He has this lovely little quirk that when he has a few beers before bedtime, he snores - LOUDLY - starting anywhere between 1 and 2 am! So last night, got to bed around midnight - late for me but I had tons to do. 1:30 start dreaming I'm taking a walk and I guess I was walking on a set of train tracks because this train starts blaring at me - HONK! HONK! - I turn around, it's right behind me - BAM! I'm awake, but the train is still bearing down on me. Oh, wait, it's just Tom! Now, my heart is racing, Tom's snoring loud enough to wake the dead - literally because I've experienced 18 years of this so I'm pretty used to his snoring - and I'm getting mad because there's no way I'm going to get back to sleep. I tried to wake him up (yeah, I know better but I was mad - I had to at least TRY to disturb his sleep a little) but after shoving and poking him for 5 minutes, I took my book and headed to Bella's room - she's got a nice queen size bed to share with mom. Of course, I can still hear him so I get up, close our (his) door AND the door to Bella's room - for all the good that did. So, I start reading my book, hoping to wait out his snore-fest so I can fall back to sleep. I finally did around 4am! This morning was mayhem and I blame it all on Tom (hee hee)! This is my secret revenge - he doesn't ever read my blogs, so he has no idea I've posted all this - ha ha, that'll teach him!
Now, on to the good part - tips! In my hours of non-sleep last night, I realized I started these tips because of our tag line, Life Well Lived. So, today, I've decided to change the name to Life Well Lived Tips! It just makes sense, don't you think?
LIFE WELL LIVED TIP #3 - Dream. About anything and everything. About meeting up with friends you haven't seen in years, about getting a new job, about quiting your current job, about having kids, about NOT having kids, about owning a small beach house on an island in the Carribean, about owning a business that spans continents, about changing the world.
Take some time today to think about your dreams - do you have any? If so, what are they? If not, think about what they could be. Anything positive. Envision it. Most importantly, feel the feelings - the good ones! The ones that make a dream something you dream about. Now, my quick disclaimer. As tip #2 said yesterday, do this in balance. Don't spend your entire day dreaming, but don't go without them either. It doesn't matter if they will ever come to be, what you take from a dream is the emotion it brings you - that feeling of utter peace because things are the way you want them to be. Feel it like it's real, and carry that feeling with you. I bet your day will be lighter because of it.
I just found your blog. (through Kal's) I love it! So bright and cheery, and you have great thoughts. I'm going to have to read through and catch up.
:) Smiles!
